Women In Control

“Women In Control

New! Women In Control is a class for women to learn about self-defense and how it applies to rape, sexual assault and physical abuse. The class is 5 weeks long meeting for 1 hour each week. Some of the topics we cover in the class are awareness, who the predators are, basic principals and defensive/offensive techniques. The majority of the class time is spent on the technique portion so that you are prepared in the unfortunate event that you are attacked. Click below to watch some video footage of our last class:

April 17th 2010 – The classes will be Saturdays from 9-10 am. To pre-register use Google Checkout below. If you plan to pay by check or cash please send me an email and pay 1 week prior to the class so I can reserve your spot.

FAQ:

Q – What techniques do you teach?

AWe teach women a combination of standing and ground techniques that emphasize the use of the most effective parts of their bodies when fighting a male attacker.

Q – Will I be training the techniques in a realistic manner?

A – Yes, our instructors will be suited up with protective gear so that you can practice these techniques using full force so that you know what it feels like should you need to use it.

QWill I be able to take a re-fresher course so I don’t forget the techniques.

AYes, for all of the women who take the course, they will be able to come up, during the WIC review classes that we will be having every couple of months, and review the techniques with each other.

QHow old do participants need to be?

AWe would like teenagers to be at least 13 years old and to be participating with a parent.

QWhat will I need to wear?

A – A pair of athletic or sweat pants and a t-shirt. If you have long hair you may want to put it up.

Q - Are off-site classes available?

A - Yes, we are available to come and teach group classes to women at your facility. If you are interested please send an email to shannon@xfactorbjj.com.
